Sheet Pile Panel Driving Method

In certain situations, not all sheet piling can be installed by a leader rig or silent piler. There is still a requirement to drive piles using the proven method of pitching piles in panels. Walings and trestles are used to guide and secure them temporarily.
Once the piles are in place, a crane is used to pitch the piles and it can then lift the piling hammer. Depending on the ground conditions and the location of the works, both percussive and vibratory piling can be used to drive the piles.

This method of piling is probably the best to employ for installation where access is difficult to navigate and where a high tolerance is specified. Guide walings should be used to restrain the piles during the driving cycle and the guiding effect from adjacent piles will provide a better result than other pitch and drive pile methods of installation.
